Srinagar, India – The Professional Taekwondo Federation (PTF) India has officially announced the 1st PTF India National Taekwondo Championships, scheduled to take place May 10–12, 2026, at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, India.
This landmark championship represents a major milestone for the growth and unity of Taekwondo in India. For the first time, practitioners from across the country representing different Taekwondo traditions will come together on a single national platform to celebrate the sport, demonstrate elite skill, and strengthen the spirit of the global Taekwondo community.
The championship will welcome participation from athletes and officials representing ITF Taekwondo, Olympic Taekwondo, and Kombat Taekwondo, reflecting PTF’s commitment to building cooperation and mutual respect across all branches of Taekwondo.

In addition to the national championships, the event will also serve as the inaugural Kombat Taekwondo Championships in India. Special Kombat Taekwondo exhibition matches will be held to introduce the professional Kombat Taekwondo format to the Indian audience and showcase the dynamic and evolving future of the sport.
The event is being organized by Mr. Atul Pangotra, President of PTF India, who has been actively working to expand and develop the Professional Taekwondo Federation in India and bring together the country’s Taekwondo community under a unified platform.
Educational Seminars and Dan Promotions
Prior to the championships, a series of important educational programs will be held on May 9, 2026 to support the technical development and professional growth of Taekwondo practitioners in India.
The following activities will be offered:
• PTF Poomsae Seminar
• Kombat Taekwondo Referee Seminar
• PTF National Dan and Skip Dan Testing
The seminars will be conducted by Grand Master Kevin Woon, 9th Dan, Vice President of the Professional Taekwondo Federation. Grand Master Woon is internationally respected for his decades of leadership, technical expertise, and contributions to the development of Taekwondo worldwide.
Grand Master Kevin Woon will also serve as the PTF Technical Delegate for the championships, overseeing the technical standards, rules implementation, and overall competition operations during the event.
International Participation
The event has already attracted strong international interest. International participants and officials, along with PTF National Presidents from several countries, have already confirmed their attendance, highlighting the growing global recognition and support for the Professional Taekwondo Federation.
Their participation will further strengthen international cooperation and bring additional prestige to this historic championship in India.
