KOMBAT TAEKWONDO DRCONGO ANNOUNCES THE INAUGURAL MINOR & MAJOR LEAGUE

Kombat Taekwondo DRCONGO is proud to announce the official launch of its Minor & Major League, taking place on 15 August 2026 at the Sport Center of Judo Police in Kinshasa.

This historic event represents far more than a competition—it marks the beginning of a new chapter in African martial arts and a decisive step toward the modernization and professionalization of Kombat Taekwondo in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Minor & Major League has been created to identify, develop, and prepare the next generation of elite athletes by providing a structured, competitive platform that meets international standards. Young talents and experienced competitors alike will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, discipline, and fighting spirit while progressing toward professional competition.

The launch of this league positions the Democratic Republic of Congo as one of the pioneers of modern Kombat Taekwondo development on the African continent. It reflects a long-term vision to create sustainable pathways for athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs while promoting excellence, integrity, and sportsmanship.

This milestone initiative is being led by Master David Ntambwe Mbuyi, President of PTF and Kombat Taekwondo DRCONGO, whose vision is to establish a strong foundation for the future of the sport in the country and throughout Africa.
